The Base Course gives you the foundations. Membership gives you a place to keep making alongside others. Seeing what other makers are trying, discovering and creating can be the small spark that brings you back to your hook — even when you only have time for a simple project.
In the private Discord community, you can share your process, find inspiration and ask for help whenever you get stuck. Our team usually responds to questions about Artisanist lessons and projects within a day, while around eight new releases a year — from wearable and weekend projects to technique guides and downloadable charts — give you fresh reasons to keep exploring.
Your first 3 months are included with the Base Course. After that, Membership is optional. If you cancel, you keep lifetime access to the Base Course and its five projects.

Shaped by more than 2,000 makers.
Artisanist is launching in English for the first time, but our approach has been shaped over years. More than 2,000 people have learned crochet with us — sharing their work, asking questions, starting over, finishing projects and continuing to make.
Now we’re bringing that experience to Artisanist.

This is not a race towards a result. The time, repetition and imperfect stages are part of the practice.

FAQ
Before you begin.
01What if I am a complete beginner and worry I will not manage?
That feeling is familiar to almost every beginner. We start with the hook, yarn and essential stitches, then use four available projects to practise what you learn. The Lace Cardigan is the fifth Base Course project and is currently in production. It will be added to your lifetime course access when ready, whether or not your Membership is active. You can repeat every lesson and ask for help when something feels unclear.
02Can I learn in my own time and use my phone?
Yes. Access begins immediately after purchase, and the base course has no deadline. Learn from your phone, tablet or computer, at your own pace, and return to the lessons whenever you need.
03Do I need to buy materials separately?
Yes. In the Materials lesson we explain what to buy, how to choose your first yarn and hook, and what you need to begin without overcomplicating it.
04Will I learn to read crochet charts?
Yes. The course explains the symbols and teaches you to read crochet charts step by step. It does not promise independent garment grading or calculating stitches for any design.
05Who answers questions in the community?
The course teachers, experienced crocheters and moderators support students in the community. Our team usually replies within a day when you have a question about an Artisanist lesson or project.
06Can I ask for help with crochet projects that are not part of the course?
Yes, you are welcome to discuss your own crochet projects in the community and exchange ideas with other members. Our team’s dedicated support focuses on Artisanist lessons and projects, but we may also offer guidance on other crochet questions when we can.
07Where does the Artisanist community live?
The Artisanist community lives on Discord — a private space for our members where you can ask questions, share what you’re making, get help when you’re stuck, and see what everyone else is working on. If you’ve never used Discord before, don’t worry — we’ll show you how to join and get started.
08Do I need Discord to take the course?
No. The Base Course lives on the Artisanist platform and remains available to you for life. Discord is part of active Membership and is where private member discussions take place. If your Membership ends, your Discord access ends too, while your Base Course remains available.
09Is there a minimum age to join Artisanist?
Yes. You must be 18 or older to purchase the Base Course and participate in Artisanist Membership and its private community.
10What new materials are added to Membership?
Membership is designed to keep your practice moving, with around eight new crochet materials planned each year. Releases may include projects, video guides, downloadable patterns, crochet charts, reference guides, or a combination of formats.
11What happens after my first 3 months of Membership?
Membership is optional after your included 3 months. It continues automatically at €36 every 3 months unless you cancel, and you can switch to yearly (€97) at any time. We'll email you a month before your included months end, and remind you before each renewal. If you cancel, your Base Course and its five projects remain yours for life. Access to the Membership area, Membership materials, support and the private community ends when your current Membership period finishes.
12What happens to Membership materials if I cancel?
Your Base Course remains yours for life, but access to the Membership area and its materials ends with your current Membership period. You can restore access by renewing your Membership. Any files you have already downloaded remain yours.
13Can I request a refund?
Yes. You can request a full refund within 14 days of purchase, even if you have already started the course. You do not need to give a reason.
14What language are the lessons in, and are subtitles available?
The video lessons are in English and include English subtitles.
15Can I sell the items I make from the course designs?
Yes. You may sell finished items you make yourself. The course PDFs, patterns and teaching materials may not be copied, shared or resold.

We begin with crochet. But Artisanist is not a crochet school.
It’s a growing world of making.
We’re interested in the skills that have lived in people’s hands for generations: knitting and embroidery, mending and weaving, basketry and sewing, growing things and baking bread.
Some we’ll learn from masters. Some we’ll rediscover through archives. Some we’ll practise together simply because making something with your hands feels good.
Our ambition is to build a place where these skills can live again — not behind museum glass, but in ordinary life.
